Iconic British rockers Duran Duran reached out to Red Magnet Media because they were releasing their first album in several years, and they wanted to be as innovative today as they were in the 80s. With their open-mindedness to new technologies, Duran Duran has increased their visibility online and secured their significance in today’s music scene.

The surf-loving rockers of Incubus were returning with a long-awaited new album, world tour, and unprecedented live participatory event. Incubus came to us with the foundations of a passionate community and a great deal of new content to share with the world. We gave them a plan for getting everything out to the fans in a smart way.

  • Live-hosted Incubus HQ Live, a seven-day pop-up event, through Incubus’ social channels: Twitter, Facebook, and Livestream
  • Increased @incubusband’s Twitter following 7X, from 9,500 to 68,000 in five months
  • Educated band members on how to use Twitter and secured Verified profiles
  • Developed a social promotions plan for Incubus’ Livestream At Red Rocks attracting 8,000 viewers
  • Launched Incubus’ profile on Formspring and secured a Question of The Day feature on album release day, resulting in over 11,000 click-throughs to iTunes

SHN is San Francisco’s premiere theater company, operating the Curran, Orpheum, and Golden Gate Theaters. Long before debuting Wicked in 2003, SHN has been bringing Broadway-quality shows and stars to the Bay Area. With its close proximity to Silicon Valley innovations, SHN is a pioneer in the industry, with a vested interest in leveraging social.

Red Magnet Media’s goals with SHN were two-fold: Make social a part of the everyday thinking at SHN, and make big online splashes to promote the theatrical experiences they offer.

  • Tailored two-day workshop and presented to SHN’s marketing, communications, and sales staff
  • Composed Tone Guide to incorporate SHN’s social voice into existing branding guidelines
  • Generated custom series of guides for social media implementation, from editorial calendars to specific campaigns and online influencers to season announcements
